This is smithing guide. Here you find all smithing tables (thanks to ) and all exp info for all items You will also find the newbie guide to smithing. Note that this guide is also a mining guide, but not crafting. It will come seperately later.

What can you do with smithing?
Main thing you do with smithing is to gain money. Smithing is now, and always will be the best way to gain money, although it requires a lot of patience and time. If you are experienced enough, you can even make your own armors and weapons with this skill, but most likely you will gain so much money with smithing, that your equipment is always better than what you can make.

Basics (Newbie players): You are probably wondering how to begin smithing and mining if you are reading this guide. Before you start smithing and mining, I suggest that you throw all other stuff of your to item bank, because the more space you have, the less work you must do. What you need for mining is a pick axe, you can find regenerative pickaxe at small house in barbarian village, or buy one from general stores (I'm not sure if they sell). First I suggest you to go to mining in West mining zone of Varrock (click the link for mining map). That place is the best source for tin and copper, which are required to smith bronze. You can only smith bronze if your smithing is below 15 (see the tables at bottom for skill requirement information). Now when you go mining, mine your inventory full with half of it copper and the other half tin, because 1 bronze requires 1 tin and 1 copper. After you have mined your inventory full with ores, go to the furnace in lumbridge. Use copper or tin to the furnace, and it will make one bar of bronze (note that it will automatically take the other ore when other one is placed in furnace). Now you should have about 14 bronze bars (the number doesn't mater). Every time you smelt one bar, you will gain exp (experience) (see the tables in bottom). Now when you got to smithing, you will need a hammer, you can buy it from general store at lumbridge. Now go to the nearest anvil, which is probaply located at Varrock. When you reach the anvils, use the bronze bar to a anvil. Now to the upper left corner appears a menu, where you can choose what items you will make. Now if your smithing is 1, you only make bronze daggers. When you smith items, you will gain exp, but how hard the item is to make, doesn't mater, only the number of bars required do (some items require more bars than others), but the amount of exp gained trough smithing 5 bar item is same than smithing five 1 bar items. The fastest way to make money is always to make daggers, short swords, long swords, chain mails or plate mails, because you should always sell items to special stores to gain more money and armor and sword special shops are in varrock. Just repeat this and you should understant the basics of smithing.

Tips:
- Allways only keep your pick axe and hammer only with you when mining and smithing to gain the maximium advantage of free space.
- Train your magic well for smithing because there is a spell called "superheat ore" which works just like a furnace. There is also spells called "low level alchemy" and "high level alchemy" which, as far as I know, gives you money from items equal to prices from general store at "low level alchemy" and prices of special stores at "high level alchemy"
- When you are mining, mine from multiple rocks, because ores have "regeneration time", which means that the ore regenerates back to the rock after certain time (which depends on players playing and the ore). When you have mined ore out of one rock, move to the next rock and so on.

Gems:
Gems can be founded from every rock, because every rock has a change of finding a gem in it. If you are mining for gems, you should mine at barbarian mines, because I have heard that they have increased chance of finding gems.
